Long time, no see

“I ask one thing only: I ask for the right to hope, to suffer as I do. But if even that cannot be, command me to disappear , and I disappear. You shall not see me if my presence is distasteful to you.”

Leo Tolstoy (Anna Karenina) – Thanks to Jim Beattie for the reminder
Do I want to turn the time
Back to that quiet mind
Of mine
Without Thee I’d find
Peace, no aim
No disturbance
Life plain
And simple balance
Between pleasures
And obligations
Leisure
No perturbations
Idyllic
And perfectly void
Almost acrylic
Painting of joy …

Not really
There’s no return to past
Angrily
With every morning fast
With tremors
Between each seeing Thee
Swallowing the venoms
Of my emotions spree
Suffering the rays
Of your look of disdain
Still happier these days
Felling all that pain
Than without a chance
Of your eyes
One more glance
Which buys
My whole heart
And Soul
At once.
